We Love Jupiter, Florida

We love living in South Florida, specifically northern Palm Beach and southern Martin Counties. We make this statement often and with passion, which often evokes the question ‘why do you love to live there?’ by those who are not as familiar with the area. Fair enough. When we take a step back to list all of the reasons why we love this area, it sounds as though we live on vacation.

You’re never too far from the water

There are numerous communities and neighborhoods that offer diverse waterfront experiences, but one of the greatest things about living in this area is you are never too far from the water. Jupiter, Tequesta, and Hobe Sound enjoy the scenery along the Loxahatchee River. Kayaking, paddle boarding, boating, and water sports are

The Loxahatchee River is 7.6 miles of ever changing wide water views, wildlife and sunsets flowing through Jupiter, Tequesta, southern Martin County, and parts of unincorporated Palm Beach County. The Loxahatchee River begins at Riverbend Park, famous for south Florida pioneer Trapper Nelson, and flows out to the Atlantic Ocean via the Jupiter Inlet. The Loxahatchee River is often referred to as “wild and scenic”; a phrase that comes to life in the daily experiences of those who call the river home.

The Loxahatchee River shorelines have been prime waterfront real estate for years. If you are thinking about purchasing or building a home on the water, why consider the Loxahatchee River?

Realtor or Real Estate Agent

Believe it or not, there is a difference between a real estate agent and a Realtor®. A recent episode of ABC’s Modern Family added humor to the situation:

So what is the difference exactly? A Realtor® is a member of the National Association of Realtors® (NAR) and held to a strict Code of Ethics. The complete Code of Ethics is outlined on NAR’s website. Realtors® can be real estate sales associates, brokers, property managers, or appraisers whose practices are accountable by the standards and principles laid out by NAR. Violating these principles can have serious consequences to the licensee. The use of a Realtor® adds an additional level of responsibility in upholding the right to own property.

Buying a home is one of the largest financial commitments you can make. Whether you are buying your first home or are a seasoned homebuyer, before you begin the home buying process there are a few things you need to know in order to have a positive experience and eliminate unnecessary stress.

1. Use A Realtor® You Trust

Your Realtor® works for you; therefore, we encourage you to interview more than one. The Realtor® you choose is representing you in the transaction and is your direct line of communication throughout the deal. This is a working relationship that requires mutual respect, trust, and full disclosure of expectations. Be up front with your Realtor® about your timeline as well as your availability to see properties. Understand that

No Brokerage Fee

If you have ever sat at the closing table or are preparing for your first time, the settlement statement can be a confusing, backwards road map of fees, credits, and prorations that somehow feed into the calculation of the final number on the front page. While it is important to understand every line and how each number was calculated, we want to explain one fee that could appear on your settlement statement… the brokerage fee.

What exactly is a brokerage fee?

If this is a term you have not heard before, perhaps it has been presented as a transaction fee, administrative fee, processing fee, handling fee, or similar. Not to be confused with a real estate commission, this is an entirely separate fee. This fee, however the broker chooses to label
